A Message from the Principal
Dear Ravensworth Community,
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It is time to gather with family and friends to celebrate and give thanks. Since a child my family has had the tradition of the Five Kernels of Corn. Each person holds the five kernels of corn in their hand says five things they are thankful for, one for each kernel of corn.
Ravensworth’s five kernels of corn are:
- We were among one of the FCPS schools to receive the 2019 Excellence in Equity Award for Closing the Gap and Raising the Bar.
- We have a wonderful staff who cares about our students, families, and each other.
- Teachers are implementing a variety of technology tools, Positivity Project activities, and Advanced Academic resources/materials into their lessons.
- Our families and community support our students’ success.
- We have a supportive Parent Teacher Association.
During this Thanksgiving season, it is my hope that you and your family will be able to spend quality time together. Thanks for all you do to make our community such a special place. I am thankful for you!
