Counseling Team Update:

  • Mrs. Watlington will be retiring next month. Please see her note to students and families below.  We are thankful for all her efforts to support Wolverines over the last 12 years and wish her the best in retirement!!
  • We will provide an update on who will be taking over for Mrs. Watlington as soon as possible.

Dear students and families:

I hope you have had a good start to the new school year.

I am writing to let you know that I will be retiring at the end of December.  I needed to make this decision this year – my 26th in FCPS and 12th at West Potomac HS - due to some family health concerns.

I will leave with many fond memories of working with you and others who make up the WP community.  I am grateful to have had the opportunity to take part in the lives of thousands of young people over the course of my career.

Please be assured that WPHS will work to make the transition from me to my successor as smooth as possible.

Best wishes to you all – let’s always remember to take good care of ourselves, others, and be kind.

Ms. Watlington
