"If there is one thing I’ve learned in my years on this planet, it’s that the happiest and most fulfilled people I’ve known are those who devoted themselves to something bigger and more profound than merely their own self-interest."  ~ John Glenn

Class of 2020- Virginia College Application Week (VCAW) November 18-22

Justice HS will be participating in Virginia’s College Application Week (VCAW).  VCAW is part of a national initiative designed to increase the number of first- generation and low-income students pursuing a college degree or other higher education credential. Participating students are encouraged to submit at least one college application during the week. Students Services has planned activities to provide students hands-on college application assistance and resources, including application fee waivers and informational materials. Events during VCAW will include but not limited to: College Application and Essay Assistance, On Site Admission Days, FAFSA Assistance. Contact Ms. Grande, Career Center Specialist, at agrande@fcps.edu for more information.

Senior Transcripts/Letters of Recommendation

Students must turn in their transcript requests to the Student Services office 30 days in advance of the college deadline. Seniors need to be mindful of the impact of the upcoming winter break when counselors and teachers will not available from 12/23/19 - 01/05/20. Students with a January deadline must submit their requests by December 1st. Students who do not submit a transcript request prior to break will have their requests processed after break. As long as the student has submitted the application on time, most colleges will offer some leniency in the deadline for the documents that the school must provide. College application sites can sometimes become overloaded on submission deadline dates so students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to avoid any glitches that may prevent the application from being received by the official deadline. These reminders are sent in an effort to avoid unnecessary stress. Please contact your child’s counselor if you have any questions.

Wolves Classic Fundraiser

November 23, Justice High School will host an all-sport exhibition to support the Wolves Sports Program.  Athletes will get to showcase their abilities in various events to raise money to support all of Justice High School spots programs. Parents and family members will get a chance to compete against our student athletes.

The Wolves Classic is an incredibly fun effort.  Each player solicits pledges to make a tax-deductible donation to the Justice Athletic Boosters. All players have individual web pages that allow for easy donations and words of encouragement. The search form is on the right side of this page

.

More than 400 athletes will participate.  Each player is encouraged to raise a minimum of $300.  Weekly and day-of-event prizes will be awarded to players.  We need everyone’s participation to make the Wolves Classic a success.  The greater the success of this effort, the less we will have to depend on the large number of fundraising activities we have engaged everyone in in previous years. You can find details on this site, including the ability to track donations and accept secure electronic payments.
