Dance for Kindness (DFK) is only a few days away!!! Please wear orange and blue to school on Monday, November 11^th for DFK.

Dance For Kindness In Washington, DC

• Saturday, November 9^th Optional Rehearsal at Ballet Nova Center for Dance 3:00-5:00pm

• Sunday, November 10^th Dance For Kindness Performance in Washington, DC at 12:45pm

If you are participating in DFK in Washington, DC, our rehearsal is tomorrow, November 9^th at BalletNova Center for Dance from 3:00-5:00pm.

Please meet at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial on Sunday, November 10^th at 12:45pm. The DFK event in DC will start promptly at 1:00pm. We will be live streaming the event on the Life Vest Inside Facebook webpage (@lifevestinside). 

Dance For Kindness at Bailey’s Upper Elementary School is on Monday, November 11^th at 9:00am

Dance For Kindness (DFK) at Bailey’s Upper will take place on Monday, November 11^th at 9:00am. We will be live streaming the event on the Life Vest Inside Facebook webpage (@lifevestinside). Feel free to tune in on Monday, November 11^th at 9:00am to watch our DFK event at our school! FCPS will be coming to our school to film the event as well!  (Opt out forms went home on October 3^rd in Thursday Folders.)

Outstanding Employee Awards

Every year Fairfax County Public Schools recognizes outstanding employees at all levels.  Once again this year, all schools in FCPS are encouraged to nominate Outstanding Employees.  You may nominate an employee in one or more categories.  All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category. 

• Outstanding Teacher – a teacher, librarian or specialist with 3 or more years of experience.
• Outstanding New Teacher – a teacher or specialist with less than 3 years of experience
• Outstanding Principal
• Outstanding Leader – Assistant Principal
• Outstanding Professional Employee - At least one year of experience in current position - these positions could include School-Based Technology Specialist, Technology Support Specialist, Psychologist, Social Worker, School Counselor, Reading Specialist, and Math Resource Teacher.
• Outstanding Operational Employee – a US-19 or below school-based employee with at least one year of experience in the position – these positions could include administrative and office staff, custodial staff, food service staff, Instructional Assistants, Public Health Assistants, Public Health Training Assistants, Parent Liaisons.

We are asking you, the Bailey’s Upper community, to help us gather names for this process.  Thank you for participating and helping us recognize the outstanding qualities of our staff members.  To submit a nomination for Bailey’s Upper Outstanding Employee in one or more of the categories , please complete the nomination using this google form link. The deadline to submit a nomination is November 13.

Winter 5^th Grade Band and Strings Concert

We are looking forward to seeing you at our first concert of the school year!  Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 5^th at 6:30 pm in the Bailey’s Upper Gym.

• Students will need to arrive at 6:00 pm
• It is strongly suggested that students wear a white shirt and black pants/skirt
