Dear Seahawk Families:

As many of you know we lost a Seahawk, Carter Smith, in a car accident over the weekend. The family has given me permission to share the service information with the community:

Carter’s funeral service will be at 4:00, Friday, November 8, 2019. The service will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, 2351 Hunter Mill Road, Vienna 22181.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the Smith family and all  who have been impacted.

A few highlights of the many activities going on recently and in the days to come include:

  • Band finishing a successful competition season
  • Varsity Cheer in the state tournament in Richmond this coming Saturday (11/9/19)

Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID are NEEDED

If you have not yet completed the annual Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid and sent it back with your student, please do so tonight. We are missing hundreds of forms.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and were to be returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL. Attendance Tips

Last year Virginia incorporated attendance into school accreditation standards. Students who miss more than 10% of the school year for almost any reason (excused or unexcused) are considered chronically absence. Schools are rated on an attendance standard based on the number of students who are chronically absent. To learn more about this please visit https://www.fcps.edu/attendance .

All visitors, including parents/guardian, must bring a government issued ID with them to check into the building for meetings, interviews or volunteering. This is a FCPS regulations for all county schools. Please assist us with making your check-in process run smoothly by having your ID with you.
