Happy Friday Centre Ridge-

I hope everyone has had a great 2 weeks, there has been so much going on here at Centre Ridge. We had a really fun Book Character Day as well as Pajama Day last week and this week we celebrated our community with an amazing Pot Luck dinner. We had over 20 countries represented and over 30 dishes to share. Thank you to all who were able to attend. Next week is our PTA meeting on Tuesday and Friday is Bingo Night. I hope you will be able to come up and enjoy the activities this week.

We also will be sending home the Thanksgiving lunch schedule. We are scheduled for Thursday, November 21 (Grades Multiage, 1,2 and 3) and Friday, November 22 (Grades Kinder, 4,5 and 6).

Have great weekend

November is Family Engagement Month in Virginia

The National Education Association (NEA) shares tips for parents on engaging with schools.

Students' homes and classrooms are the focal points of their learning experiences—from kindergarten through high school. Parents who work with teachers and students are critical partners in helping their child achieve success.

Parents set the example and the tone for their child's approach to education.

When parents are engaged, interested and supportive in their child's learning, the child is more likely to succeed.

Bridging the divide between what is learned in the classroom to how it is relevant in day-to-day life is a critical role for parents. It brings meaning to their child's learning experience.
