Hello Wolverines!

Please see the information below regarding receiving weekly progress reports in SIS.  This may be an easier way for you as parents to follow your child’s progress and to determine needs for communicating with your children and with their teachers.  The collaboration and communication between home and school is crucial to your child’s academic progress.

Important Information regarding Weekly SIS Progress Reports

If you have registered for SIS ParentVUE and have a primary email address recorded in ParentVUE, you can receive your student’s Weekly Progress Report via email. This report provides a summary of your student’s grades for the current quarter. To activate the Weekly Progress Reports via email, login to your SIS ParentVUE account and verify that you have a primary email address within the system. It is listed under the “My Account” tab. If it is blank, enter the email address where you would like to receive the progress reports, and click on “Update account.” Once your email is confirmed, return to the “My Account” tab to activate and select your preferences for receiving these reports. Emails will be sent according to your selected preferences. Weekly Progress Reports for all of your middle and high school students will be included in one email. For additional help, refer to the quick reference guide for FCPS parents/guardians.

Ms. Millard

Fairfax Connector Bus Pass Update

The Fairfax Connector Bus Passes have arrived.  Any student who has submitted a completed permission slip to Ms. Hofmann in Student Services this school year, can see her Monday-Thursday during lunch (11:30-1:30pm) to receive their bus pass.  A reminder that Bus Passes given out last school year should still work.  Students are only given one bus pass for their four years and are required to return their bus pass upon graduation.

Mr. McMahon

Federal Impact Aid- Reminder

Federal Impact Aid forms were sent home through Advisory on October 21.  Please complete these forms and return them to school.  Even if you do not think you qualify, we are required to collect forms from all families.  As we face budget issues each year, the information gathered from this survey can be critical to providing funding to the county, FCPS anticipates receiving approximately $3,000,000 from the Impact Aid Grant this year.

Again, accurate and timely completion of the form is essential because FCPS requires 100% completion for all schools.  Each student enrolled at West Potomac High School must turn in a completed form.  Please know that personal information will be kept confidential.

Please help WPHS get 100% of the forms back as soon as possible.

Mamma Mia! Beyond the Page Theatre Company at West Potomac High School kicks off its 35th Season: From Across the Pond with the international smash hit Mamma Mia!, dazzling audiences on stage from November 2 – 9. Over sixty million people from around the globe have fallen in love with the characters, the enchanting story and ABBA’s timeless music which makes Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show! This sunny, funny, international sensation unfolds on a Greek island paradise when on the eve of her wedding, a young woman’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited twenty years ago. Non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers, along with the magic of ABBA's hit songs that include “Super Trouper,” “Dancing Queen,” “Knowing Me, Knowing You,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Thank You for the Music,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and “SOS,” combine to make this enchanting show a trip down the aisle you'll never forget! Performances will be held in the West Potomac High School’s Kogelman Theatre on Nov 2 (2pm & 7pm) Nov 3 (2pm*) Nov 7 (7pm*) Nov 8 (7pm) Nov 9 (2pm & 7pm). As if Mamma Mia! weren’t already giddy and shameless, here comes more musical silliness: November 3 and 7 are singalong performances with a Mamma Mia Mock-tail Party directly following the November 3 performance.  That’s correct, audience members will be able to sing along with the cast to ABBA’s hits during these special performances. It’s become clear just how much these songs mean to people. Our singalong nights will be a celebration of that; a chance for our energetic, passionate audiences to be a step closer to our talented cast RATING: MAMMA MIA! is rated PG.
