Message from the Principal

Langley HS

Greetings,

It’s hard to believe that we have completed the first quarter of the school year. Our students have gotten off to a great start. I am continually amazed by our school community. Our students and staff hold themselves to very high standards and are committed to excellence. This is to be commended and should never be taken for granted. Saxons, you are phenomenal.

As we know, not only do Saxons work hard but they play hard too. Here is but a small snippet of the great happenings taking place in Saxon Country!!

Congratulations to the Saxon Scope. Our student publication received a First Class rating for the second year in a row. The great news doesn’t end there. Recently, School Newspapers Online—a site that hosts many (if not most) of the school newspapers’ websites across the country, bestowed an award upon the Saxon Scope website for Excellent Web Design.

For a second consecutive year, and only for the second time in school history, the Marching Saxons ended their season by earning a rating of Superior at the state marching assessment. Way to go!!

The great sportsmanship of our student athletes and coaches was recently recognized by the Virginia High School League. The organization presented Langley High School with the 2018-19 Stay in the Game award. This is an acknowledgement  of no Saxon coaches or players being ejected from a game during the specified school year. Langley was only one of three FCPS schools to earn this distinction. Athletes and coaches, we are proud of you!

Through the use of driving simulations, students were made aware of dangers of distracted driving. At the end of the school day, as they drove out of the school lot, student drivers were rewarded by FCPD for buckling up. Certificates for Santini fries were given to students for making the great choice to stay safe while driving.
