Student Arrival Time

Just a reminder to please time your child’s arrival to 8:15 a.m.  We do not have adult supervision outside the front door until that time.  Patrols may report at 8:00 a.m.

Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID

In today’s Wednesday Folder is your child’s Federal Impact AID form.  Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return to Ravensworth ES. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.  See the video link for more information - https://youtu.be/uPqC3BLf3Ow

Book Character Day

We are looking forward to our Book Character Day on Thursday, October 31st. Students can dress up like their favorite book character.  To ensure the safety of your child and others please no masks, no scary costumes, no weapons, or face painting.

Socktober

Keep those socks coming in.  Join Lake Braddock SS and its elementary feeder schools in collecting socks for those in need.   Please help us teach students the value of giving all this month by having your child donate new socks.  Please contact Mr. Austin, our school counselor, if you have any further questions.

Bravery Breakfast

On November 11th from 8:00-8:30 a.m., we will be hosting a Bravery Breakfast.  As part of our Positivity Project focus we want to honor our family members who are veterans, active duty military, and reservists.  Please RSVP by November 4th to https://qrgo.page.link/GsRZc

Positivity Project

This week our students are learning about Perspective.  The Positivity Project defines perspective as - you appreciate when people see things in different ways.  You have the ability to understand the world from multiple points of view.  Our daily news show has featured videos and quotes to reflect on this trait.  During the week of October 28 our students will focus on Creativity.  You can extend your child’s learning by going to the Ravensworth website at https://ravensworthes.fcps.edu/about/positivity-project
