Digital Citizenship Spirit Week

Next week is Digital Citizenship Spirit Week. You should have received an email yesterday with information about the week. For a reminder of the events planned for each day, please refer to this flier.

Federal Impact Aid Forms

Federal Impact Aid forms coming home Wednesday!

Beginning on October 21, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

October Spirit Day

Show your school spirit by dressing like your favorite storybook character on Friday, October 25th. Students are encouraged to bring the book or a copy of the cover, and no masks or weapons are permitted.

This day is also a part of our Digital Citizenship Spirit Week and students are encouraged to “Focus on how you can use technology to create original works”.

We look forward to seeing the creative spirit of Lees Corner!

Hallowingo

You're invited to Hallowingo at Lees Corner Elementary! It's BINGO, Halloween style. Arrive in costume (or not), bring all your family, and be ready for a festive yet not-so-spooky Halloween party with a chance to WIN!! Pledge members- FREE family admission and Bingo Packet, Standard Membership or Non Members- $10.00 per family pre-sale or $12 at the door.

Admission, Bingo Cards and Basket Raffle tickets can be purchased at https://leescornerpta.memberhub.store/

The Hallowingo flyer can be found HERE.

If you want to avoid the crowds, join the PTA with your pledge and pay online from the comfort of your home!

Why make a PLEDGE? If you make a tax deductible pledge to LCES it will free families from having to do a major fundraiser throughout the school year where the school only earns 50% of sales.

The PTA funds field trips, after school activities, Hallowingo, Cultural Arts Assemblies, 6th grade basketball game & Luncheon,  book fair, staff development and much more.

We need you! Please consider joining and pledging today

Fun Fit Friday Dropoff Reminder

We are so happy that so many students and families are participating in Fun Fit Fridays! If you haven't joined us yet, we welcome you to join us.

If you are dropping off your child(ren) for F3, please drop them off at Kiss and Ride so they may use the sidewalk to get to the track. Dropping students off across the street or in the parking lot is a safety concern. Also, please do not park in the front parking lot as buses need to be able to enter and drop off students during arrival.

Veterans Day

If you have family members who are active duty military or veterans, we invite you to send in pictures of them. Pictures will be used to create a display in our lobby to honor those who have served our country in the military. If you have any questions, please email 3rd grade teacher Amelie Krikorian at alkrikorian@fcps.edu

Hurricane Dorian Relief Efforts

Dear Region 5 Communities,

Thank you for coming together to support the Bahamas after Dorian’s deadly destruction over a month ago. We were able to raise $8,650 to help support the area. All donations from the GoFundMe page are now being delivered to the UNICEF organization.

Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and care!
