Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID

Beginning on October 21, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL. 

Cameron students and staff will have our annual “Dress Like a Book Character Day” on October 31^st. 

Students may come to school in costumes to represent a favorite book character.

Costumes should not include anything scary, any blood or weapons. 

Students in Kindergarten, 1^st and 2^nd grade will be able to participate in the parade starting promptly at 3:30.

Upper classrooms (grades 3-6) can watch the parade as it passes by their classrooms.

Picking Up Students from the Bus Stop

As a reminder, our youngest students must be met at the bus stop each day.

 Kindergarten students must be met by a adult or responsible middle or high school student. 

Head Start students must be met by an adult. 

Students in first grade and above are dropped off even if no adult is present unless designated in an IEP.

For the safety of our students, please consider these guidelines:

• If you cannot make it and it will be a different person picking up, please contact the school before dismissal so we can let the driver know who to look for.
• The person picking up your child must know the child’s first and last name and be able to tell it to the driver.
• The person picking up your child should be familiar to the child.
• If you have not contacted the school with the adult’s name, the adult should be someone on the emergency care card.
• If you have an older child who doesn’t need to be met, talk with them about what they should do if they don’t see you at the bus stop.  Should they go straight home?  To a neighbors house?  Should they tell the bus driver that they don’t see you (so they can get brought back to school)?
