New Assistant Principal Welcome Message

Dear CRES families, 

It is my honor to be named the new Assistant Principal at Colvin Run Elementary School. I hope that everyone is having a great start to the school year! I am very excited to begin this journey with you all at such an amazing school! Colvin Run has already shown me that it is a place where community, relationships, collaboration, and positivity work together to ensure every student reaches his or her own potential academically, socially, and behaviorally.

I am excited to be able to continue the trend of providing our students at Colvin Run with a truly challenging and enriching school experience. I believe in fostering a learner-centered environment that promotes equitable practices that honor students’ identities. I also believe in providing differentiation in content, process, and product within a concept-based curriculum to meet the needs of all students to maximize student achievement.

I am coming from Centreville Elementary School where I was a special education teacher and administrative intern. I received both my Master’s in Education and my Graduate Degree in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University. I am also a proud product of Fairfax County Public Schools. In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, playing/watching sports, and spending time with friends and family. My wife (who is also a teacher in Fairfax County) and I along with our dog Maverick live in Fairfax, VA.

I cannot wait to get to know you and your families personally. Please know that my door is always open. I greatly look forward to celebrating all of our wonderful successes with you throughout the upcoming year.
