Dr. Brabrand and the FCPS School Board has selected Lake Anne to receive the new Superintendents Equity in Excellence Award. This is a new and very important recognition to celebrate our school’s progress as we continue to raise the bar and close student achievement gaps. After a careful analysis of the Division SOL data, Lake Anne has accomplished the following milestone:
- Top 10 schools with the largest reduction in achievement gap in English
Lake Anne, along with the other schools, will be honored at the School Board meeting on October 24, 2019 at 7:00 PM to recognize this achievement.

Next week, the Positivity Project character of the week is "Integrity" and students will learn about doing the right thing when nobody is watching. They will practice what they preach and maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. #otherpeoplematter |
Thank you to everyone in supporting our new afternoon dismissal procedure. The new Dolphin Depot and Dolphin Bus Zones have helped students arrive safely and quickly to their destinations as well as expedite the entire dismissal process. Thank you for your help in making this new plan work effectively. As a reminder, the new dismissal meetings locations are below:

Come on out to Reston Town Center on Thursday October 17th for a special double "Dining for Dollars" Night. Have dinner at The Counter and dessert at Ben & Jerry's. Come out to Ben & Jerry's between 6:30-7:30pm to be served by some special guests from Lake Anne.

Coming at the end of October in the library: BOOK FAIR! It will run Monday through Friday, October 28-November 1. It will be open 8:30-4:30 every day. There will be extended hours on Tuesday, October 29 when it will be open until 6:00 PM. On Thursday the 31st, don’t forget to dress up as your favorite book character! |
It is a reality that for some Lake Anne families, providing holiday gifts for their children is a challenge. We are here to help. Heritage Fellowship Church has partnered with LAES again this year to provide donated holiday gifts for children in our Lake Anne community through their Angel Gift Tag program.
If you would like to participate in this program, you must contact Lake Anne social worker Marcela Dzeda at 703-326-3587. Please leave a message with your contact information if Marcela is unavailable.
The deadline to include your child on the list to receive a holiday gift is 12:00 noon on Friday, October 18.

Es una realidad que para algunas de las familias de Lake Anne, poder hacerle regalos de Navidad a sus hijos es un reto. Y la Iglesia Heritage Fellowship Church se ha asociado nuevamente con LAES este año para donar y proporcionar regalos de Navidad para niños en nuestra comunidad de Lake Anne a través de su programa Angel Gift Tag.
