bryant

5th and 6th graders are helping HES Counselor, Ms. Bryant, during Kindergarten guidance lessons by translating and assisting with writing.  They are AMAZING – the students are excited to have a big buddy and are able to clearly communicate their thoughts and participate in the lessons.

Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact AID

Beginning on October 21, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 30. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Volunteers needed in the HES School Health Room

If any parent or guardian would be interested in volunteering for a few hours in the clinic when Miss Mercy is out for training or sickness---please contact her at 703-326-3110.  It is very rewarding to help children when they are not feeling well or hurt.  You would administer basic care and call parents when necessary.  You WOULD NOT have to give medicine to students, only trained staff can do that.  Our wonderful public health nurse, Nicole Morales, would personally train you at the school.  Please consider this opportunity to help at your child’s school and feel appreciated!  Thank you for considering.
