SLHS News & Announcements 10-9-19

10-9-19

Dear Seahawk Families:

Please read below for news about the upcoming PSAT tests for 10th and 11th graders as well as plans for students in other grade levels. Also included in this message are opportunities for parent involvement as judges, chaperons, and  through other FCPS events. Homecoming Week is later this month. It is a week of high energy and a lot of fun- see below for more information.

PSAT Testing- A little Different This Year

The PSAT will be administered Wednesday, October 16th for all 10th and 11th graders. It is a two-hour early dismissal day.

Ninth (9th) graders will be completing county designed transition activities- please bring your charged laptop!

The 9th grade lessons and PSAT testing will begin at 8:10AM and end at approximately 12:25PM. There will be a grab & go lunch until 12:55PM when buses should arrive. Buses will depart by 1:05PM.

If your student is in 10th or 11th grade and has accommodations for the PSAT that allows for testing beyond dismissal time (12:55PM) you will need to arrange for transportation home. The end time for the test is dependent on when the test gets started, so please either arrange a meeting spot or have your student call/text when they are finished.

Seniors should look for an email from Ms. Campbell in the Career Center for sessions to help with college applications. This is also a good time for seniors to complete community service projects, job applications, or college visits/applications.
