Principal Message 10.9.19

Daugherty

Dear Beech Tree Families,

It finally feels like Fall! Please keep practicing hand-washing routines at home. We’ve had some fevers in school this week due to viruses and sinus infections. Allergies are impacting our friends, too!

This week’s Positivity Project focus is on “Being Present & Giving To Others.” As parents, we are always multi-tasking. We can sometimes be so focused on our other many responsibilities that we may accidentally send our children the wrong message. As we are teaching the P2 traits, they are serving as powerful reminders to us as adults. Small actions can often be the most powerful. When our children are suddenly excited to share something, let’s remember to turn off the radio or the TV, to put our phone down, or close our laptop. They grow up so fast and the most important message we can send our favorite people, our children, is that they matter. This is a message we try to send here at school, as well. When our students need us, we each try to drop everything and be present and available. Obviously, both at home and at school, it’s not always possible to drop everything, but we can say, “Give me a minute to finish this and then I am all yours.” Together, we will continue to teach our Beech Tree Beavers that they matter and that giving our time to each other is the greatest give we can give and receive. More information on The Positivity Project can be found here: https://posproject.org/

I look forward to seeing you this Thursday, at 6:30pm for our PTA meeting, in the cafeteria! Also, this Friday is  Justice High School’s Homecoming Football Game at 7:00pm. Please consider going with your family to support our Wolves!

As always, thank you for your trust. Let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns,
