We'd like to improve our dolphins' abilities to reach their afternoon destinations safely. After a site study with the FCPS Office of Safety and Security, we have made modifications to our Lake Anne dismissal procedures. Although last Friday's News You Choose stated that the new procedure would begin today, due to today's Food Truck event, we will begin these new procedures on Tuesday October 8th. Starting tomorrow, walkers will dismiss to the Dolphin Depot (the flag pole area) and bus riders will enter the Dolphin Bus Zone (other side of cones). Please see the map below for the new meeting locations:
WALKERS: Walkers will exit the school using the two right doors of Entrance 1 and go to the Dolphin Depot, the flag pole area. You can meet your children at the flag pole and then exit the depot on the sidewalks designated by the purple arrows. Please model safe dismissal procedures by using the sidewalks.
BUS RIDERS: Pre-School and Kindergarten bus riders will be walked directly to the buses from their classrooms. 1st-6th graders will exit to Dolphin Bus Zone using the two left doors of Entrance 1 and be directed by the patrols to their appropriate bus.
KISS & RIDE: Kiss & Ride procedures remain unchanged but as a reminder, please have your name pass displayed prior to pulling into the Kiss and Ride. This helps expedite the process of locating your children. Pick-ups only occur in the areas indicated by the green arrows. Please pull up all the way to the front of the pick-up area and do not use cell phones while in line.
DAYCARE BUSES: Daycare bus procedures remain unchanged. All daycare students will go to the cafeteria and wait at assigned tables until their daycare bus/van arrives. Then attendance will be taken to ensure that each student boards the correct bus/van.
BIKE/SCOOTER RIDERS: Those that arrive/depart school by bike/scooter are reminded to walk their bike/scooter while on campus. This will help ensure the safe arrival and departure for all.
