Calendar Reminder: Schools Closed for Students on October 14 for Columbus Day Holiday
As a reminder, schools will be closed for students on Monday, October 14, for the Columbus Day holiday. October 14 is a school planning day for staff members. SACC will be open. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 15. See the complete 2019-20 school year calendar.

We had a wonderful start to our PTA year with the first General Meeting last week. Thanks to everyone who attended. We hope you are just as excited as we are about the many wonderful things to come this Fall! Mark your calendars for the next meeting on Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30 pm. Herndon Homecoming Parade
It's that time of year again! Join us for a fun morning defending last year's title of Best in Parade! The parade theme this year is "Into the Future," and we'd love for you to register to walk with us. We're planning to march in the parade wearing bright neon colors because "our future is so bright!" To register to walk in the parade, fill out the flyer in your Thursday folder or visit https://herndonespta.com/events/homecoming-parade/. Bee the Hive Fundraiser
This is beginning of our fourth annual “Bee the Hive” No-Fuss Fundraiser. All the money raised will go directly to fund programs that help our students! We also encourage you to see if your employer offers a matching grants program. The PTA will be collecting donations through Friday, November 1. Contributions are tax-deductible, and letters verifying your donation can be provided upon request.
Bee the Hive funds are be used to pay for:
- Cultural and educational assemblies and family nights
- FCPS bus transportation for field trips
- Meal Bridge program for low-income families
- Classroom enrichment materials and equipment
- Professional development and continuing education grants for teachers

- Location #1 – Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church (46833 Harry Byrd Hwy., Sterling, VA 20164)
- Location #2 - Trinity Presbyterian (651 Dranesville Rd., Herndon, VA 20170)
- Saturday, Oct. 5th – Registration open 10 am – 12 pm
- Location #1 – Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church (46833 Harry Byrd Hwy., Sterling, VA 20164)
- Location #2 - Trinity Presbyterian (651 Dranesville Rd., Herndon, VA 20170)
Clients should bring a Photo ID, verification of children (report card, immunization records, etc.), verification of address and live in Herndon, Sterling or Ashburn.
