Dear Stenwood Families,
Today was a very successful Walk to School Day! It was great to see so many students and families walking together. Hopefully the weather will cool down a bit soon so you can enjoy a walk more often.
Thank you all for your tremendous support through Help the Hive, our final total was over $27,000. The PTA does amazing things to support our school and community and this fundraiser is vital to the success of those programs. As a school, we did earn the ice pop reward; stay tuned to find out when we will be celebrating with that special treat.
As noted in the PTA’s Wednesday Mail, our October meeting was moved to Monday, October 7th. We hope to see you there!
One of our most favorite traditions is our Veteran’s Day breakfast! We are already in the planning stages. On Veteran’s Day, we will be honoring any Stenwood parents, grandparents, or siblings who have served or are currently serving in the military. For more information, see below.
Sincerely, Erica Riley, Principal Meredith Mitchell, Assistant Principal
Positivity Project: Being Present
Week of 10/7-10/11, we will focus on Being Present
This week we are working on ONE of the FIVE overarching components of the Positivity Project. Being present and giving others my attention is an important component of building strong relationships. “The biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand. We listen to reply.” ~Stephen Covey
Questions you might enjoy talking about. • What does it mean to be present and give other people my attention? • How might being present and giving others my attention be important to building healthy relationships? • Why do we need relationships?
