Parent Night on Anxiety Awareness
Every child experiences anxious moments or phases. Learn when children need help to manage their anxiety by coming to the Parent Night on Anxiety Awareness on November 13, 2019 at the West Springfield High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30pm with a free screening of the documentary ANGST at 7pm. An expert panel discussion follows the screening and information on school and community resources will also be available. The event is sponsored by local school counselors, school administrators, the FCPS Region 4 office and PTAs/PTSAs.

Advanced Academic Program Information

Positivity Project - Week of October 7
This week’s Positivity Project focus is the Other People Matter Mindset with an emphasis on being present and giving others your attention. This is a great week to talk with your child about those who have been present in their lives and how they have made a difference for them.

2019-2020 Reflections: "Look Within"
Entries Due: Friday, October 11
PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the student's interpretation of the 2019-2020 theme: "Look Within".
Students may enter one or more categories. The categories are:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Literature
- Music Composition
- Photography
- Visual Arts
Deadline for entries is at the end of the school day on October 11, 2019. Entries may be dropped off in a box located in the front office.
