Stenwood Hive Happenings

Hive Happenings Newsletter

Dear Stenwood Families,

Thank you to our amazing PTA for such a wonderful ice cream social!  It was great to see so many families together celebrating the start to the school year.  If you have not had a chance to join the PTA, please do, they are a vital support to our Stenwood community.  We are also in the final push for the main fundraiser, Help the Hive.  The ice cream social is just one of the many things PTA is able to do for our students at no cost thanks to the money they raise during Help the Hive.  Thank you to all of you who have donated, Dr. Mitchell and I would love to hit $30,000 so we can do our wacky stunt!
We also want to again welcome the new students and families in our Stenwood community.  We had the opportunity to work with the SCA to welcome new students at an orientation last week, and it was so great to see many of those new faces at our ice cream social.  We thank you all for also reaching out to the new students and families at Stenwood and showing them what a friendly and welcoming school we are!  We ask the new students to fill out a feedback card for us to let us know what they think about Stenwood so far, and one student shared, “I love how Stenwood has so many fun and awesome students and activities.”  We 100% agree!

Sincerely,

Erica Riley, Principal

Meredith Mitchell, Assistant Principal

Positivity Project: Open-Mindness

Week of 9/30-10/4, we will focus on

Open-Mindness

You like to consider new ideas and try new things. You examine things from all sides and don’t jump to conclusions.
“Progress is impossible without change; those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”  ~George Bernard Shaw
Questions you might enjoy talking about.
• What does your attitude have to do with being open minded?
• How is jumping to conclusions being closed minded? Why might that be a negative in building relationships?
• How open minded do you think you are?
