Hurricane Dorian: Toothbrush Collection

As the residents of the Bahamas start to rebuild their lives after the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian, Fairview Elementary would like to help support the Bahamians. Paddy Stevenson, a student in Mrs Stockwell’s class, is leading the campaign to collect 775 toothbrushes (to match the number of students in our school) to send to the Bahamas. Please help Paddy in his campaign by sending your child to school next week with a toothbrush to donate. We would really appreciate your donations.

Step right up for National Walk to School Day – October 2, 2019! Join the movement that inspires the entire community to come together to promote:

Physical activity

Teaching safe pedestrian skills to children

Awareness of how walkable a community is and where improvements can be made

Concern for the environment

Reducing traffic congestion, pollution, and speed near schools

Sharing time with community leaders, parents, and children

First Quarter Conference

We invite all of our parents/guardians to meet with their child's teacher during the first quarter. This conference provides an opportunity for a dialogue about your child's progress and growth.

A Message from the

Fairview PTA

PTA Board Meeting, Thurs 9/26, 7 pm in the Pod

Board members are requested, all are welcome to this first PTA board meeting of the year!  We'll be digging in to our calendar, committee work, activities for the year, looking for committee members and chairs, etc.  We don't have child care for this meeting but there are always a couple of kids hanging out reading or playing while the meeting happens, so if you don't have a sitter, don't sweat it!

Art Volunteer signup is here!

All 700+ Fairview students get to enjoy time in art class.  Whether they have "art on a cart" or visit the art room, there are a lot of materials to be distributed and collected and many young artists looking for help.  Please help our art teachers by volunteering during art class!  More detail can be found on the signup, or email PTA Art Committee Chair Erin Herbig for more information at eherbig@gmail.com.  Sign up here:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4dafa92da46-mccarron

Library Volunteer signup is here!

Are you interested in volunteering in the school library? Volunteers are always welcome to come in to help re-shelve and assist the kids with finding books and checking out. You may come in during your student’s library time or during other classes (some classes have a lot of volunteers while others have none; kindly also consider volunteering during gaps).  There are also opportunities to help out with Book Fair. Fill out the form and you will be contacted shortly!  Any questions, contact PTA Library Committee Chair Bethany Cardone at b.cardone@hotmail.com. Sign up here:  https://forms.gle/ZNUde9n9FTAgypTd6

Did you join the PTA yet?

It's never too late to join the PTA -- but if you wait, it *may* be too late to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!  Join by September 30 and you'll receive one entry in the random drawing!  https://www.fairviewpta.org/
