Your Health Matters!!!!

How was your week?  Did you stay hydrated?  Remember, it is more challenging to stay hydrated when it is so hot and when you are sweating a lot!

Did you know that most of the healthy food at the grocery store is on the outside perimeter of the store? Did you ever think about the fact that the fresh vegetables and fruits, fresh breads, meats and dairy are on the outside of the aisles?  When you start going in the middle, you are often looking at foods that are not as good for you.

The processed (canned and packaged) foods are on the inside of the store.  These foods are not going to feed your body with what you need to be healthy.

The sodas and sugary drinks are also on the inside of the store.  How many sodas do you drink in a day or week?   Did you know that sugary drinks, sodas and some fruit juices are linked to obesity, diabetes and heart disease?  Look at what Coke is also used for!!!

Here, a man soaks a tooth in Coke for 4 days. Before the tooth was white and health. Look at what the Coke did to it!

A rusty weight was left in a bucket of Coke Zero for four days. Look at what the chemicals in the Coke did to the rust!

So, if Coke can be used for these things, what do you think soda is doing to your body?……Just something to think about !!!!

MyFitnessPal is a great app to help you to monitor your food and liquid intake. It is a free download!  You can download it and use it to monitor what you are eating and to start eating healthier!  Your body is a good investment!!

Future Wildcat Family Picnic and CVHS Homecoming Float Decorating

PTA is proud to sponsor the school-wide picnic this Sunday, September 29th from 1:00-3:00 at LMS. Pack your lunch, bring a blanket and meet some new families. Music will be provided by, Tony Moreno, one of our very own Liberty parents!

Students will have an opportunity to show off that school spirit by transforming Mr. E’s trailer into a float that will represent LMS in Centreville High School’s Homecoming Parade. Students can earn service hours for this project.

RSVP: Libertymiddleschoolpta@gmail.comwith PICNIC in the subject line.  Let us know how many in your family will attend so we can plan accordingly.

Centreville High School (CVHS) Homecoming Parade-Friday, October 4

All students are invited to walk along with the float in the parade on Friday, October 4th.  Wear your school colors and meet us in the Union Mill Elementary School parking lot no earlier than 4:00. Let’s show that Lion Pride!!
