Message from Ms. Badini

Greetings Graham Road Families!

It has been an exciting first month of school. Teachers and students have built strong relationships and set the foundation for what will be a great school year. I want to personally invite each one of you to attend two events this week. On Wednesday, September 25 at 6:30 pm in the Graham Road Elementary library, we will have our first PTA meeting of the year! Please join us to learn more about upcoming events this year, like the fall festival, girls on the run, the PTA election day bake sale and a brief Title I presentation by me. We will also have ice cream on the playground immediately following the meeting so please, bring your little ones and join us! If you cannot make the meeting, our PTA will also be live streaming the meeting on Facebook live. Make sure you log onto Facebook, search Graham Road PTA or click https://www.facebook.com/GRESRoadRunnersPTA/. This is the first time we’ve attempted to live stream so bear with us should there be any technical difficulties.

On Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 pm, also in the Graham Road Elementary Library, Maddie Sirota, our advanced academics resource teacher will present about the levels of advanced academics service we provide at Graham Road. I look forward to seeing you there and getting to know you and learning how I can best support your children this school year!

Your Principal,

Lauren Badini

PTA Meeting - Facebook Live!

Can't attend the PTA meeting on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:30?  Join us on Facebook live instead!  Simply follow Graham Road PTA on Facebook and you will receive a notification when the meeting is live.

CogAT and NNAT Re-test Request

Each fall the CogAT-Custom Form is administered to all FCPS second grade students. Students who are new to FCPS and who do not have an ability test score on file will also be given the CogAT test in the fall testing window. The Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT) will be administered to FCPS first grade students in the November.

Parents or guardians of students in Grades 3-5 may exercise a one-time re-test option during the fall testing cycle. To request that your child be re-tested, please submit your request in writing to the school test coordinator, Ms. Bretz, by Friday, September 27, 2019. Requests must be submitted by email, written, note or postal mail with a parent signature, date, and the name of the requested test. Email request may be sent to kabretz@fcps.edu .

Please use the template below:

Dear Ms. Bretz,

I request that my child (child’s first and last name) retake the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test/Cognitive Abilities Test (choose one). I understand that this one time retake may only be used once during my child’s schooling years in Fairfax County Public Schools.

Sincerely,

(Your signature)
