Events on Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Chantilly High School will have a 2-hour early release day for all students.  High school academy courses will not be held.

 PSAT/NMSQT

Students in grades 10-11 will take the PSAT/NMSQT.  FCPS is covering the cost of the assessment for these students.  Only students in grade 11 are eligible to compete for the National Merit Scholarship; however, taking the PSAT/NMSQT in grade 10 provides students practice. More information about these tests is available on the CollegeBoard website: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/  Results will be distributed electronically by CollegeBoard with an access code emailed in December 2019.

 PSAT Pre-Survey

At the beginning of the PSAT, students are presented with a voluntary pre-survey that asks questions about a variety of topics. Parents/guardians may view the pre-survey questions and access information on how to opt out on the PSAT Pre-Survey Opt-Out Policy public webpage at: https://www.fcps.edu/node/36639. Pre-survey opt-out forms must be returned to Caitlin Franks, Assessment Coach, at Chantilly High School by Friday, September 27, 2019. If you choose to opt your student out of the pre-survey, please be sure your student knows they should not answer the pre-survey questions at the beginning of the test.

9th/12th Grade Activities

Instead of taking the PSAT 8/9 this year, students in grade 9 will participate in an academic and career planning experience that supports the transition to high school. They will also attend an Activities Fair run by upper classmen to learn about clubs and other activities here at Chantilly.  Students in grade 12 will participate in senior meetings including the panoramic photograph.
