After School Programs are set to begin in just a few weeks, with late buses for academic work with teachers beginning on Monday, September 23rd, and the full schedule of clubs, activities and sports beginning on September 30th.  Check out the LJ After Hours website for details and a full schedule.

This year, thanks to some extra funding from the school board, we have late buses FOUR days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Students will need to sign up ahead of time (online) for clubs, activities, sports, and study halls, and need to sign up with their individual teachers to stay for extra help.  Keep in mind, if a student plans to stay with a teacher, they still need to sign up online for a B session activity if they plan to ride the late bus home.

Free healthy snacks are provided every day, and the list of activities will likely change a little each quarter, depending on the activities being offered by teachers.  Contact Mr. Hoffert, After School Program Specialist, for more information.  Follow us on twitter for updates! @LJ_AfterHours

Students in 1st-8th grade are invited to attend the Falls Church HS Cheer Clinic this Saturday, September 14th, from 9:00am-12:30pm at the high school.  The cost is $40 and includes a bow and a t-shirt.  The registration form can be found HERE... contact Coach Zee Herb for more information 

Parents and Students, join us at the Falls Church HS football game vs. Annandale on Friday, September 20th for Middle School Night!  We'll have a Luther Jackson tailgate party on the tennis courts at FCHS starting at 5:30pm, where you can play tailgate games, buy some pizza ($1/slice), and get your ticket for the game.  Kickoff is 7:00pm, and we'll cheer on the Jaguars as they take on the Annandale Atoms.  Come join us for a fun night of football and Luther Jackson Pride!

Once again this year, we're planning for a Luther Jackson entry in the Falls Church High School Homecoming Parade, helping to celebrate the 75th year of FCHS!  We'd love to have a bunch of LJMS students, decked out in red and black, walking behind our truck in the parade while carrying the LJMS banner!  Jackson the Tiger will be there too!  Keep an eye out for details as we get closer to that date!
