Dear Panther Families,
It is hard to believe that it is already the middle of September. Our first five day week was busy with lots of learning, another fire drill, the BBQ, recess and fun.
Our first PTA Meeting of the school year is next Thursday at 9:30. In addition, we are having our first Principals Coffee of the year from 8:45-9:30. The Principals Coffee is a time for parents to learn about Poplar Tree from staff members and the administrators. For the first Principals Coffee we will be discussing the format of the coffees for the year. We hope to see everyone next Thursday morning.

Our Neighbor’s Child and Western Fairfax Christian Ministries provides support (food, holiday gifts) to families in need during the holiday season. If your family needs this kind of assistance, please contact Lisa Hershaft, our school social worker at ldhershaft1@fcps.edu as soon as possible.
Advanced Academics Information
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We are all looking forward to a great year of learning! Mrs. Keleher, Poplar Tree's Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, will hold a parent information session on September 26, from 9:00-10:00 am in the LA Room. At that meeting, she will share an overview of the four levels of service in FCPS and share general information about the screening process/timeline for this year.
