The Positivity Project – our third year Relationships are the cornerstone of health, happiness, and resilience. The Positivity Project equips schools with the training, strategy, and resources to inspire students to build positive relationships. Grounded in extensive research, this character education model is based on 24 character strengths -- ranging from bravery and forgiveness to integrity and gratitude -- that exist in every person. Starting next week, we will be including a brief summary of each week’s strength in every Tuesday News You Choose.

Freedom Flag to fly from September 11-18 September 11, 2019 will mark the 18th anniversary of the attacks on American soil. To commemorate this historic event, Section 1-510 of the Code of Virginia officially designates the Freedom Flag as the official Flag of Remembrance of September 11, 2001. A Freedom Flag has been ordered for every school in FCPS. Ours will fly from September 11 through September 18. Designed by a Virginian, the Freedom Flag features ten elements in a red, white, and blue design commemorating all who lived and died on that tragic day. More information about the flag is available from the Freedom Flag Foundation, a non-profit public charity created to oversee the distribution of the Freedom Flag to schools, colleges, and universities.
