Dear Halley Families,

What an amazing start to school we've had!  Students have come excited, ready to learn, and have quickly settled into new learning routines.  Halley Hornets are engaged in their classrooms, beginning each day with a Morning Meeting, practicing greeting each other, sharing, reading their Morning Message, and participating in a morning activity. If you would like to know more about our school-wide Responsive Classroom approach, please review the following site: https://www.responsiveclassroom.org/.

We’re looking forward to our Back to School Night on September 17th. We look forward to families meeting with teachers to share hopes and goals for the 2019-2020 school year!

Linked below, we are super excited to share our yearlong school calendar! It highlights activities and school events from September to June!   We want students and families to be in the loop and connected to all things Halley! We hope to see you at each occasion as we nurture a caring school culture! Events and Dates are subject to shift or change; so please stay tuned to the Hornet Happenings for updates. Hard copies of the Halley events calendar will be made available.

Back To School Night

Halley’s Back to School Night (Tuesday, September 17, 2019) is a time for parents to hear from teachers about the upcoming school year. We have lots of important information to share 😊 !

  • At the beginning of each session, there will be a short video featuring school administration sharing our vison and mission for the school year.
  • For parents of more than one student, we are offering two sessions, so parents may attend presentations for more than one grade level.
  • The PTO will be in the lobby to invite you to join. They will be on hand to help answer questions about the exciting events and opportunities for our families this year. Please consider joining the PTO!
  • We will have assistance in the library if families need help with their parent view account.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Principal's Coffee

Please join us for our first Principal Coffee Talk of the 19-20 school year. This will take place on Wednesday, September 25th from 10:00 – 11:00 in the Halley Library.

Jennifer Buchko, our School Based Technology Specialist, will share safety tips about Internet Safety and useful Apps. The administrators will be present for a meet and greet and a short general question/answer forum.

All are welcome !
