Monday, September 9 is Picture Day! Students were given order forms in their Health and Physical Education classes this week.
World Language Credit Exam
Can your child read and write in another language?
If so, please consider having them register for the World Language Credit Exam. Students must be able to read and comprehend exam instructions and writing prompts in the exam language. They must be able to write two well-developed essays in the exam language, each consisting of at least three paragraphs.
The following 30 languages will be offered the 2019-20 exam: American Sign Language, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin), Farsi, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Nepali, Pashto, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Telugu, Tigrinya, Turkish, Twi, Urdu and Vietnamese.
Registration
Students must meet with their school counselors to register.
Registration opens on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 8 a.m. and closes on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 4 p.m.
Credit exam dates, times, and testing sites:
November 6 - Centreville High School Cafeteria - 4:00 pm-7:45 pm
November 7 - Edison High School Cafeteria - 4:00 pm-7:45 pm
November 8 - Marshall High School Cafeteria - 4:00 pm-7:45 pm

National PTA Reflections 2019-2020
Explore your creativity by participating in the National PTA Reflections Program. The theme for the 2019-2020 program year is Look Within. Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Deadline for submission is October 15th. Information on how to submit will be coming soon. Contact mtmsreflections@gmail.com for more information.
Would you like to help National PTA pick out a future Reflections theme? If yes, visit https://www.vapta.org/programs/arts-and-education/reflections-top to download the Theme Search Packet. All Reflections themes are submitted by students! Each local unit may submit to Virginia PTA 5 suggested themes by November 1, 2019. We will vote on our top 5 to submit to National and they will choose one for the 2020-2021 Reflections theme. The winning student receives $100 from National PTA.
