Back to School Night Welcome!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone tonight.  Note that this is the busiest evening that our school and neighborhood will have regarding cars and parking.  We highly suggest walking or carpooling.  If you have to drive, please do not park in our neighbor’s driveways.  Police will be present during the evening and we recommend using your #kgpride!

The summary below is by grade level.  We will have class lists available should you have an issue with recalling a child’s teacher(s).  Specialists, such as Art, P.E., and Music, Advanced Academics, Library, FLES, Band, Strings etc. will be available in the gym from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.  Also note that our special education teachers will be available in their rooms and the English Language Learner teachers will be in room 139 from 6:15 – 7:00 p.m. or by contacting them directly.  Maps will also be available for your reference.

We hope that you enjoy the evening.  Please note that we will dismiss no later than 6:10 p.m. for grades 4 -6 and for grades K-3 no later than 8:10.  Please depart in a timely manner so our teachers may prepare for the next day. Parking will be limited. Please be mindful of our neighbors with your parking, there will be law enforcement present to ensure that we do not block our neighbors’ driveways. Kindergarten Back to School Night 7:00 p.m.

Kindergarten parents should proceed to the homeroom that your child is assigned.  Our kindergarten team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially. 

First Grade Back to School Night 7:00 p.m.

Parents of children who are in Mr. Brock, Ms. Oakley or Ms. Sisson’s classes should proceed directly to your child’s homeroom.  Parents of students in the immersion program (Andrews, De Lucien, and Otterson) should proceed to the cafeteria.  The immersion teachers will present an overview of the year with details about the curriculum.  The parents will also have the opportunity to visit the classrooms and view your child’s work. We will end at 8:10 p.m. at the latest in order for our teachers to prepare for the next school day. Our first grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially.

Second Grade Back to School Night 7:00 p.m.

Parents should proceed to your child’s homeroom for the announcements and be introduced personally to your child’s teacher.  After an overview of your child’s day, you will have the opportunity to complete the ‘switch’ similar to your child if they participate in the immersion program with Mademoiselle Kennedy, Madame Boehm, or Ms. Kerns.  For those parents of non-immersion students, you will remain with the homeroom teacher (Mrs. Viernes, Ms. Cronin, and Mr. Vance). After meeting your child’s teacher(s), the whole second grade team would like to present an overview of how the team will work and plan together to the parents in the cafeteria.  All second grade parents will come together to end the evening and meet the team. Our second grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially. 

Third Grade Back to School Night 7:00 p.m.

Parents should proceed to your child’s homeroom to receive an overview of your child’s morning curriculum.  Then you will have the opportunity to complete the ‘teacher switch’ similar to your child.  Your homeroom teacher will communicate the plan and schedule that evening to you.  We will end no later than 8:10 p.m. in order to give our teachers time to prepare for the next school day. Please depart on a timely basis. If you do not remember your child’s teacher upon arrival, we will have assistance in the front lobby.  Our third grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially. 

Fourth Grade Back to School Night 5:00 p.m.

Parents should proceed to the cafeteria for the general announcements and listen to a presentation from the fourth grade team regarding curriculum and their plans for the year.  The team will dismiss the parents from the cafeteria and you will have an opportunity to be introduced personally to your child’s homeroom.  After an overview of your child’s day, you will have the opportunity to complete the ‘teacher switch’ similar to your child.  Your homeroom teacher will communicate the plan and schedule that evening to you. Our fourth grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially. 

Fifth Grade Back to School Night 5:00 p.m.

Parents should proceed to your child’s homeroom for the announcements and be introduced personally to your child’s homeroom teacher.  After an overview of your child’s day, you will have the opportunity to complete the ‘teacher switch’ similar to your child.  Your homeroom teacher will communicate the plan and schedule that evening to you.  After meeting your child’s teacher(s), the whole fifth grade team would like to present an overview of how the team will work and plan together to the parents in the cafeteria.  All fifth grade parents will come together to end the evening and meet the team. Our fifth grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially. 

Sixth Grade Back to School Night 5:00 p.m.

Parents should gather at 5:00 p.m. in the gym for the announcements and a presentation by the sixth grade team who will review the curriculum and general plans for your child’s school year.  You will have the opportunity to meet each teacher personally after the group presentation.  The teachers are available and welcome you to their room in the outside classrooms.  The teacher names will be posted outside of the trailers and quads.  Note that this evening is planned for parents (children are requested to stay at home).  If you begin in the outside classrooms in the back of the school, you may walk through Door 6 (doors by the inside stairwell) to walk through the school and go to the quad in the front of the school.  If you begin in the outside classrooms in the front  of the school (quad) and need to exit to visit the outdoor classrooms in the back of the school, you may exit through door #6 (doors by the front stairwell). Our sixth grade team is working together to plan a wonderful year for your child to grow academically, emotionally and socially.
