During the first two weeks of school Oak Hill has been reviewing and practicing safety procedures and protocols. By tomorrow, two fire drills and one lockdown drill will have been completed. We practice these procedures to protect students and staff members in cases of real life emergency situations. This week, Mrs. DeVore and Mr. Credle have been meeting with grade levels to review Student Rights and Responsibilities. These discussions with the students have been engaging and productive. As a reminder, the signature page of the SR&R booklet is due October 25th.

We are excited to announce that Oak Hill is going to the next level of providing our students and staff with a healthier lunch! Beginning on September 11, we will be implementing a new Salad Bar. You will find the Salad Bar lunch menu describing the vegetables, fruits, proteins and grains available on the Salad Bar, as well as the students’ hot entrée choice here. All students will select their fruits and vegetables for lunch from the Salad Bar, and then they may complete their lunch by choosing salad bar proteins and/or grains, or the hot entrée listed on the menu for that day.
Please plan to enjoy ice cream at Baskin Robbins on September 19th between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Some of your favorite Oak Hill teachers and staff will be scooping! All proceeds will go towards the Oak Hill technology and staff development funds. Thank you for supporting our Spirit Night!
Fairfax County Public Schools has a contract with Global Payment Solutions to provide online payment services as a convenience to our parents and guardians for school lunch, student fees and other school store items through their online website and mobile apps commonly referred to as MySchoolBucks. As with a lot of mobile applications or online portals, users are required to accept “Terms and Conditions” when they register to use the application.
Typically, as updates are made to the portals and applications, users are required to read and accept the updated terms and conditions. Recently, MySchoolBucks updated their application and added the following Terms and Conditions as of July 31, 2019.
- Requiring the user to agree to mandatory arbitration.
- Waive any right to be part of a class action suit.
The provisions are ordinary and customary and are commonly used by e-commerce vendors. The MySchoolBucks Terms and Conditions specifically state that this is not the only way to make payments to a school.
The options are to 1) agree to the terms; or 2) provide payments using cash or a check. Additional payment information is available online.
Parents who speak Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, or Vietnamese can call a telephone information line for general information about FCPS and to receive support if they are having difficulty communicating with their children's schools due to a language barrier.
Are you interested in gardening? Sign up for the Oak Hill Garden!!! The garden team needs co-chairs and volunteers throughout the year. The commitment needed is about 3 hours a month during the active growing season. Past gardening experience is not necessary.

My name is Liam Reardon and I am senior at Chantilly High School. I am approaching the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 158 and for my project I wanted to do something that would involve the whole community. My project is a collection of used sports equipment which I will donate to my beneficiary, Leveling the Playing Field - a non profit organization that collects and distributes used sports equipment to underprivileged communities. Leveling the Playing Field accepts most types of equipment except for bicycle equipment, clothing and uniforms, hats, and sneakers (however cleats are accepted). I will have a collection box placed in the front lobby of the school from 9/9-9/30. I would greatly appreciate your help with my project. More information can be found here. For further questions please email me at Lmreardon00@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your support.
