CWES Weekly Happenings

From the Principal's Desk

What a wonderful start to the school year! We enjoyed meeting so many of you at our Back to School Open House Event last Friday, and it has truly been a delight to have your children back in school this week! This year, our theme is "cWEs CAN collaborate!" We are excited to provide your children with many instructional opportunities to learn how to create, communicate, and collaborate with their peers. We are looking forward to partnering with you to make this year a happy and successful one for your children! Here are just a few photographs of our first day of school, from the classrooms of Ms. Ferguson, Mr. Svercl and Mrs. Crump!

Choose Your Music Electives!

This is an exciting week for our fourth through sixth graders as they select the music electives they will take this year! Fourth graders can choose to learn a strings instrument, while fifth graders and sixth graders can choose to learn a strings or band instrument, as well as the option to join chorus. Forms went home in Take Home Tuesday folders, and links to Google forms were sent via email this past weekend. Families need only submit ONE response (paper or Google) by TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3. Cougars Go Green

Help us go paperless.

Every Tuesday, students bring home a folder with paperwork from the teacher, the school and the PTA....that adds up to a LOT of reams of paper used each year. This year, Canterbury Woods is offering a green option! Starting October 1st, you can access digital copies of Take Home Tuesday flyers through the CWES PTA website, the PTA newsletter, and News You Choose. (Classroom level communications—work, assessments, etc.—will still be sent home each week in the Take Home Tuesday folder.)

Please return this form or scan the QR code and fill it out electronically if you want to opt into going paperless for weekly flyers starting October 1. We only need you respond ONE WAY (by paper or by Google form).
