Tiger's First day 2019
Terraset Families,
Just a few important reminders as we start our new school year:
- Morning Kiss and Ride starts at 9:00
- Walker Door opens at 9:05
- Students who arrive before 9:05 will wait in the main lobby until we release to classrooms at 9:05
- Parents will need to say good bye to students at the door where they drop off (as opposed to walking children into classrooms)
- Afternoon Kiss and Ride begins at 4:00
- Walker dismissal starts at 4:00
- Please make sure your child’s teacher knows how he/she will be dismissed
- PLEASE BE PATIENT AT BUS STOPS DURING ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
Please join me in welcoming Andrew (Andy) Camarda to our staff as the Interim Assistant Principal for a few weeks, until a new Assistant Principal has been selected. Andy is a retired FCPS Principal having served in that role for 14 years, most recently at Lemon Road Elementary. Before that, he was an Assistant Principal at both Dogwood and Mosby Woods, and has served in the central office as part of the Instructional Services Department. And, greatest of all, Andy was (is!) a Terraset Tiger- having taught both fifth and sixth grades here! He is also a proud native of Reston. He graduated from South Lakes High School and lives in the community (right across the street).
Andy currently serves as the lead staff developer for the Positivity Project. He is very excited to support Terraset and the great work we are doing here.
P2 Weekly Character Strength

Next week we will begin learning about P2, with the character strength #OtherPeopleMatter.
#OtherPeopleMatter is our motto, hashtag, and the spirit of the movement we are building.
Stay tuned for more information about the Positivity Project! Students will be learning about 24 character strengths and discussing #OtherPeopleMatter.
