Whether you are new to Woodson, or a returning student, the Woodson PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) would like to welcome you to the new school year!
Who are we? We are the only Woodson organization dedicated to supporting the entire school. We award grants to support Woodson’s many programs, teachers and students and host teacher appreciation events throughout the year. We also sponsor programs and speakers that help Woodson families and students navigate some of today’s challenging issues. We are looking forward to a new year with new opportunities to make a difference here at Woodson.

Woodson Varsity Football Home Opener
The Cavaliers will play their first varsity football game at home against Annandale HS this Thursday, August 29th at 7pm.
Athletic Booster passes will be on sale at the gate. To purchase in advance of Thursday's game, please visit the Woodson Boosters website.

Chorus Booster Club
Chorus Booster Club would like to welcome new and returning choral students to the Woodson Choir.
Please join us for the first Choral Booster Meeting of the year on Thursday, September 5th at 7:30pm in the chorus room.

Reminder to students and parents - please drive slowly through the parking lots and in the surrounding neighborhoods. Our school is a very busy place, with lots of cars and pedestrians. Please stay focused - put those phones away - and drive slowly. Thank you.
Picture Days
All Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors will have their school picture taken on Wednesday, September 4 or Thursday, September 5. Makeup day is Tuesday, October 22nd.
Lifetouch mailed order forms to each home. If you did not receive an order form, please have your student stop by the main office.
Freshman and Sophomores are scheduled to have their pictures taken during their PE Class period. Juniors will have their picture taken during their English class period.
 PTSO Hosts the First-Ever WTW Military Welcome Night
Late last school year, the PTSO formed the WT Woodson Military Network.
The Network met over the summer and planned a wildly successful Military Welcome Night to welcome new military families to the Woodson community. Over 100 new and current military family members in the Woodson community came out to enjoy an ice cream sundae bar.
The students also participated in a scavenger hunt to help them learn their way around Woodson. The winners took home Woodson spirit wear for the first home football game this Thursday.
Blue Star Families and the USO Metro partnered with the Network to donate ice cream, sundae toppings, cake, and drinks for new and current WTW military families to enjoy. We’d like to thank Tracy Healy and Lisa Griffin for leading the charge to plan this event. Thank you also to the many current Woodson families who came out to help our new military families feel welcome.

Donate Classroom Supplies
Next time you’re out at the store, please pick up a few extra basic classroom supplies for our awesome WTW teachers.
Did you know that our teachers often spend their own money on things like tissues, disinfectant wipes, and dry erase markers? The PTSO supports our teachers by distributing supplies a few times throughout the year. You may bring supplies or gift cards (Staples, Target, etc) to the PTSO table at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 19th. Thanks! We’ll see you there!
