Helpful Information

Visitors – After a recent dicussion with our Office of Safety and Security, please be advised that all visitors to Clermont ES will be kindly asked to state their purpose after ringing the entrance bell. As before, all visitors will need to go directly to the office, sign in and obtain a visitor badge after entering the building. In addition, please wait outside the front doors during arrival and dismissal. We are eliminating any unsafe, unnecessary traffic in our large foyer area. We thank you greatly for your cooperation in helping to keep our students and staff safe.

Bell Schedule –All elementary schools have a 6 hour and 45-minute day. The initial bell at Clermont ES rings at 8:50 am, and students are permitted into the building at that time. There is no adult supervision for children prior to 8:50 am. The tardy bell rings at 9:05 am. It is our expectation that all children are in their classrooms, ready to learn by 9:05 am. Our instructional day begins at 9:05 am with our morning announcements. If students arrive to school after 9:05 am., please escort your child to the main office to sign them into school. School dismisses at 3:50 pm, and buses leave the campus at 4:00 pm.

Kiss N' RideAll grade levels, including kindergarten, please drop off and pick up students at the designated Kiss ‘N Ride area in the parking lot before and after school. The Kiss ‘N Ride speed limit is 15 mph. In order to ensure the safety of our students on the roadways in and around the school, drivers need to remain in the kiss & ride line at all times and must adhere to traffic rules and regulations. To ensure the safety of our students, parents should expect that students exit from the passenger doors onto the sidewalk. Staff will assist as needed, parents should remain in vehicles. All parents/drivers need to exhibit courteous driver behaviors while driving on school grounds. Traffic violations and unsafe driving practices on school grounds will be reported to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Communication – As the new principal of Clermont ES, I wanted to share that most communications from me will be sent via email through the EagleGram or other News You Choose emails. I am available directly as well at rsalata@fcps.edu.

Attention all 4th, 5th and 6th grade Clermont Parents. I have scheduled a strings parent information night for Wednesday, August 28th at 6 pm for all parents and students interested in the strings program, as well as already registered beginning and returning string parents and students. The meeting will take place in the Clermont Cafeteria. There will be some local music stores at the meeting who will measure students for instruments and who will be able to rent instruments if you are interested.

Are you new to Clermont Elementary School?

A cartoon drawing of a young boy and girl student holding up a sign that says "Welcome."

Welcome to Clermont Elementary! The FCPS school counseling program provides comprehensive services to all students, supporting student success by providing academic, college and career, and personal and social counseling. School counselors help build a foundation for learning while supporting students' achievement.

We begin the year by offering short term new student orientation groups to welcome new students, and to facilitate adjustment to Clermont ES. Groups meet one time per week for two to three sessions and are open to 1st through 6th grade students. Meetings last for approximately 30 minutes and are held during the school day.

If you would like for your child to participate, please contact us before the beginning of the second week of school. We look forward to getting to know your child and your family!
