Welcome Back to Wolftrap

Principal's Message

Principal Theresa Khuluki

Dear Wolftrap Families:

We are so excited for the start of a new school year! It is going to be a fantastic year as we have many new initiatives planned. One of those initiatives kicked off today and will continue tomorrow as students attended grade-level assemblies during specials to learn more about the Positivity Project. A handout came home today in the welcome back packet to help our families learn more about this program. This envelope has several important forms. Please make sure that you send your child to school tomorrow with their completed “Emergency Care Form.”

Remember to mark your calendars for our annual Back-to-School Night, which will be held on Thursday, September 5 from 6-7:30 PM. This event is important for parents to attend, as you will receive important information from your child’s teachers regarding grade level expectations and operation. New this year, I will be hosting an opportunity for new families to attend New Family Orientation from 5:30-6:00 PM. The PTA will join me as we discuss communication, ways to get involved, and answer questions for those who are new to our school.

We are thrilled to welcome ten fantastic educators to our community this year. I will be featuring our newest staff members in the second and third edition of this newsletter. Stay tuned for all of the exciting things planned for the 2019-20 school year and I look forward to partnering with you on this exciting journey.

Sincerely,

Teresa Khuluki

Principal

PTA Membership and Friends of Wolftrap

We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with exciting events and enrichment opportunities for our Wolftrap community. As a PTA, we wouldn’t be able to offer this diversity and depth of programming at Wolftrap without the generous continued support of our families.

Every child benefits from PTA programming whether or not you join, but we do more when we all do our part. A Friends of Wolftrap donation in particular makes the critical difference in what we are able to offer at Wolftrap. Check that box and join now!

And win a chance at a $50 Amazon Gift Card! From now until September 13, you can enter to win. We will draw one winner each for from families that join the PTA and one from Friends of Wolftrap donors. Winners will be drawn at Wolftrap Under the Stars. Thanks to Dr. Ghaffari for his sponsorship of Wolftrap Under the Stars that makes this raffle possible.

Mark your calendars for three great events to start the year. Parents, join us for Back to School Night next Thursday to hear what’s happening in the school and your child’s classroom this year.

Our first PTA meeting will be on Friday September 13th, at 8:45am in the beautifully refurbished Teachers’ Lounge. If you’re curious about where to volunteer, this is the event to attend! We’ll hear from committee heads about opportunities, review and approve the 2019-2020 budget, and hear from Mrs. Khuluki on school updates. Join us after for coffee, conversation and questions.

Volunteer Needs

Can’t make it the first PTA meeting? No problem, check out specific volunteer needs this year here. Email Jean Lee at volunteer@wolftrappta.org or Jessica Jue at president@wolftrappta.org to learn more.

Staying Connected

Lastly, as a reminder, the Wolftrap Connection newsletter is Wolftrap’s primary method of communication and the only place to read the Principal’s Message. It is published biweekly, but goes out weekly at the start of the school year through Sept. 9.

Please make sure you are signed up to receive it and (for Gmail users) check your Updates folder. If you have any issues, reach out to Mr. Campet, mfcampet@fcps.edu.

We’re excited to get this school year underway and are always around if you need us. Welcome back!
