Welcome Back Stallion Families!!!

Family,

Well, we are back! Today we had teachers in the building officially for their first day of work and meetings. The energy was outstanding, and the conversations about how we would be working with your students was truly focused and deliberate. I was excited to be a part of these conversations, and I am sure that your students will enjoy their time back in school a week from now. (I am supposed to say that, but I really mean it too!)

I hope that each of you had a great summer with your children, and by now you are ready for them to come back to us…. to learn of course! Well we are just about ready for them too. But before they return to classes, we want to invite all of you out to see us Thursday at the New Student Orientation, the Ninth Grade Orientation, and the Stallion Stampede!

The New Student Orientation is designed for our families of students in the 9th – 12th grade who have relocated to the South County community for the 2019-20 school year. This program begins at 9:00am in the auditorium and runs through 11:00am.

The Ninth Grade Orientation will begin at 4:00pm and will run through 6:00pm to allow our rising freshman the opportunity to navigate the building in a calm environment. Students will be welcomed by our School Leadership Ambassadors in the gymnasium, and they will also receive their schedules.

The Stallion Stampede is for all other students in grades 10 through 12. These students will also receive their schedules, be able to purchase parking permits, parents will have the opportunity to drop off medication, join the PTSO, sign up for SIS access, etc.

We hope to see you at one or more of these events this coming Thursday. I look forward to meeting you, and beginning the year running. Take care!          #OneStallion

  • Parents’ rights to inspect instructional materials used as part of the educational curriculum.
  • FCPS’ maintenance, retention, and disclosure rules regarding student scholastic records including parents and eligible students’ rights to inspect such records, to request amendment to such records and to opt out of disclosure of directory information about the student.
  • FCPS’ disclosure of student information for graduation photographs or other commercial purposes and the right of parents and eligible students to opt out of this disclosure.

In its Annual Notice of Survey, Records, Curriculum, Privacy, and Related Rights and Opt-Out Forms (Annual Notice), FCPS provides explanations of the rights listed above as well as forms that may be used to exercise opt-out choices. Two versions of the Annual Notice are available—a grades K-8 version and a grades 9-12 version. Parents with children at different grade levels should read each applicable version of the Annual Notice because the notices and opt-out rights vary depending on the student’s grade level. To access the complete Annual Notice opt-out booklets online (requires use of Adobe Acrobat),
  • Click Opt-Out Forms.
  • Choose either the K-8 or 9-12 version. Parents may also request a paper copy from the principal’s office at their child’s school. If you wish to opt your child out of any of the activities mentioned above, you must complete and return the appropriate forms to your child’s school.

No action is needed if you do not wish to Opt-Out your student.
