Carson Summer Reading for rising 7th & 8th graders!

All rising 7th and 8th grade students are expected to read at least one new book of their choice during the summer.  Not sure what book to read? Check out this site to help you decide: http://bit.ly/WhatToReadNext. Our goal is to promote reading for pleasure. Whether you’re on a plane, in the car, at the beach, pool, or in the comfort of your own home, it’s great to have a book in hand! At the beginning of the school year, your English teacher will share with you an assignment that you will complete to share about the book you read. We are so excited to see what everyone picks to read over the summer

Panther Palooza

Information regarding our 4th annual Panther Palooza, was sent out via eNotify to all families on Monday, August 5, and again on August 12, via News You Choose.  This optional event is an opportunity to turn in important forms, receive your locker assignment and take a walk around the school (teachers are not available at this time).  Be sure to check your email for details (including links to required forms) about this day, or visit our website at https://carsonms.fcps.edu/

7th Grade Orientation

(also open to 8th Graders who are new to RCMS)

Orientation for 7th graders and those 8th graders who are new to RCMS this year will be held on  Friday, August 23, from 9-11AM.  Students will take part in a whole group welcome and will do a “walkthrough” of their schedule and meet their teachers. This event is only for our students. Transportation will be provided from your neighborhood elementary school. Details on the bus timing will be provided soon.

Are you going to miss Panther Palooza and/or  Student Orientation?

If you are unable to attend these events, student class schedules will be visible in SIS ParentVue and SIS StudentVUE on Thursday, August 22.

Students who need a copy of their schedule and/or their locker assignment will be directed to report to the Library at the start of school on Monday, August 26.
