Welcome Back To School

Welcome Forestville Families to a new school year!

It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year. I hope that your summer has been filled with fun family activities while enjoying the time away from school. How quickly summer concludes, and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school. This is always one of my favorite times of the year! I love the excitement that comes with the beginning of each school year and eagerly await welcoming our students and hearing their wonderful stories of summer. I am thrilled to be part of a team comprised of teachers, staff, parents and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and continue to work hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Forestville is a successful and happy one.

Your partnership and support are key to ensuring that we can maximize each student’s educational and social development. To that end, we will continue to encourage positive home-school relationships based on the mutual goal of providing the best possible experience for all our students. Our talented faculty brings diverse approaches to instruction in order to address a variety of student learning styles. You will have the opportunity to visit your child’s classroom at Open House on Thursday, August 22nd at 10a.m.-11a.m. We look forward to seeing you!

You will also have the opportunity to learn more about your child’s classroom at Back to School Nights. The Back to School Nights are scheduled as follows: Wednesday, August 28 (PS-3) at 6p.m.to 7p.m. and Thursday, August 29 (4-6) at 6p.m. to 7p.m. At Back to School Night, you will be able to spend time in the classroom and learn of the volunteer opportunities at Forestville. You will also learn more about our awesome PTA and how they support student learning at Forestville.

Throughout the community, there is an incredible level of excitement as everyone makes final preparations for the arrival of our children. It is with the same care, enthusiasm, and commitment that we approach the craft of teaching. As you have entrusted us with the education of your children, we have developed a strong educational program that addresses each child’s social, emotional and academic needs. We will continue to promote an educational environment that engages each student in meaningful work so that they develop into 21st Century Learners.

The staff and I are eagerly waiting to welcome you to another wonderful school year and look forward to seeing families and students soon.

We wish you the best for a successful and rewarding school year!

Sincerely,

Marietta Arbach, Acting Principal
