Physical Changes at OHES!

We are still growing this year.  As you look around your neighborhood, you can see many for sale signs.  As our school keeps growing, so does our facilities.  We have an addition of a quad to accommodate our growing homeroom classes as well specials classes. The location of the quad is determined but FCPS facilities based on state and local regulations, as well as, building access and electrical hook ups. We are fortunate that we still have a basketball court available, as well as, a large field for student to play.  We will continue to partner and advocate with facilities to ensure access to adequate space for our students to run and play during recess.

Thank you to Luke Prentice, as part of his Eagle Scout project, there has been a considerable upgrade to the front of our building.  Thank you to those of you that donated plants to this beautification project.

Also, as shown in the picture above, FCPS facilities continues to partner with us as we upgrade our surrounding areas around the building.  Many of our outdoor areas have been impacted by years of erosion.  Doors 3 and 4 area are looking beautiful and we hope you enjoy!

If you are looking for a rainy day activity, consider making a rock to add to our patch.  Think back to the positivity project we learned about this year, and see what inspiration you can create.

Summer Reading

Summer Reading is here! Relax with a good book and enjoy your summer.

Our students have worked so hard this year and have accomplished so much in reading. They have read independently, in partnerships, and with book clubs, etc.  We want to encourage our students to continue to read as much as they can this summer. Feel free to use the OHES Reading, Writing and Fitness Program, the Fairfax County Public Library program (offered at all Libraries) or just continue to read for pleasure!
