Parent Letter

Dear Jackson MS Families,

My name is Michael Magliola and it is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal at Luther Jackson Middle School. I am honored to have been selected to join this amazing school and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality middle school experience. Jackson MS is known across the region for its outstanding Advanced and Accelerated Program, along with its wide range of electives and extracurricular offerings. I am committed to ensuring our students develop essential skills necessary for navigating this rapidly changing, increasingly diverse, and interconnected world.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for the last fifteen years and have served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles. I started my career in the classroom as a high school teacher and then went on to serve as a middle school vice-principal and principal in California. I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection and believe parents are every child’s first teacher. Working together, we can ensure your child’s social-emotional and academic needs are met!

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers working together to build meaningful relationships with our students and helping them achieve to their fullest potential. I am committed to listening, collaborating and learning to ensure our students are prepared for high school, college and 21st-century careers.

As our school year begins, I will be working closely with our teachers, administration and student services in creating an atmosphere that provides academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant and relational while making real-world connections. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

Please join me on the dates/times/locations below for a brief introduction and light refreshments. Of course, if you are unable to attend, I can be reached by email at mjmagliola@fcps.edu or by calling the school at (703) 204-8100.
