FCPSOn is a district-wide initiative that will issue student laptops for use both at school and at home starting in the 2019-2020 school year. If you have any questions about FCPSOn you can visit this link, or contact our Technology Specialist Scott Thimons. Here are answers to a few of our most commonly asked questions:
What happens when the technology fails? Current pacing plans do not allow for missed times?
As part of FCPSOn, schools will be provided with a number of devices that can be checked out to students if a device needs to be repaired. If a student's device breaks, the goal is to get them a loaner device as soon as possible until the device issued to them is repaired.
Who is financially responsible for lost/broken devices?
The devices come with a warranty, and most reasonable repairs or losses are covered by FCPS. As with any FCPS property, repeated instances of damage/loss, or damage that occurs as a result of gross negligence, may result in replacement charges.
