Please find electronic copies of your child's Wednesday folder items on the PTA website. Thanks for going green and accessing these items online each week! If you would like to change your preferences for paper or electronic copies, please contact the office.
Dear Belvedere Families:
It is hard to believe that the 2018-2019 school year is coming to an end! The year has gone by so quickly, and we have so much to be proud of. We especially want to thank you, our parents, for your support, time and dedication to making Belvedere a school where all students engage in meaningful and interesting learning opportunities.
Students in grades three through five completed all Virginia Standards of Learning tests, and we are so proud of their dedication and perseverance! Preliminary scores will be sent home tomorrow with student progress reports. Please note that students who took retakes on paper may not have the most up to date scores on their reports. Official score reports will be sent home in August 2019 once the Virginia Department of Education has verified all scores.
During the summer months, we encourage you to make sure that your child reads a little bit every day. You may want to read with your child; your child may want to read to a friend, sibling, or stuffed animal, or your child may want to read alone. Reading every day will ensure that his or her reading skills remain strong throughout the summer. We encourage you to also check out the summer learning opportunities shared below by some of our teachers.
Thank you for your support this school year. We could not wish for better partners to continue making Belvedere a great place to learn. We wish you a wonderful summer!

Calendar Reminder
The last day of school is tomorrow, Thursday, June 13, 2019. It is an early release day, and students will be dismissed three hours early at 1:05 p.m.

Summer Learning Opportunities
Summer Gardening at Belvedere
Want to wear out your kids? Do you like free, fresh food? Adopt a Belvedere garden this summer! We’re growing tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, beans, peas, mint, watermelon, squash, cucumbers, Jerusalem artichokes, rosemary, strawberries and blackberries.

Summer Reading Activities
Our librarian, Mrs. Atkins, has compiled a list of summer reading opportunities and posted them on the BES website. We hope you take advantage of some of these fantastic activities!
Additional activities and tools
Students have continued access to digital tools like MyOn (eBooks) and Dreambox (math program) throughout the summer using their current usernames and passwords. Find links and details on the BES website.
Order next year's school supplies through the PTA!
The Belvedere PTA is selling school supply kits again this year. Details can be found on the order form in the June 6 Wednesday Folder. Online orders can be placed until Friday, June 21, 2019. To order online, please visit www.shopttkits.com, and enter account number 93733 in the red box.
