Summer Reading Requirement

A smiling sun, a stack of books, and the words, "Get Ready for Summer Reading"

Our expectation at Clermont is that every student reads consistently over the summer so they continue to practice the skills they learned this year. All students are required to read at least one book this summer and be prepared to complete an activity when they return to school in the fall.  Each teacher will determine what that activity will be. Students should be prepared to talk or write about their book. If it’s fiction, then they should know the beginning, middle and end including characters, setting, problem and solution. If it’s nonfiction, then they should know what it’s mostly about and be able to share some facts.
