news

We can’t wait to welcome your child to Herndon Middle School for the 2019-2020 school-year! One of our exciting activities awaiting them here is the Hawkington Post, the school’s newspaper! It contains articles about school events and other interesting information. Interested students should like to ask many questions, learn new things, work with others, and be willing to give and receive constructive feedback.

If you think your child would enjoy working on the Hawkington Post, please have her/him complete the survey linked below by Thursday, June 13th or contact:

  • Mr. Porta (rjporta@fcps.edu)
  • Mrs. Kennedy (eakennedy@fcps.edu)

at the school for more information. Selected students will be assigned to the school newspaper HawkTime group.

Student Services Spring Advisory Council

The HMS Student Services Department is offering the Herndon Middle School community a unique opportunity. It’s easy and should only take a few minutes of your time. We are asking for our HMS staff, students, and families to give us some feedback, the good, the bad, and the constructive. We want to hear from you! Please visit our website,  review what we did this school year, and let us know how we can make our programs better. Most importantly, if you would like to partner with us in any way, we want to know that as well. Leave your contact information after completing the survey and someone will reach out to you.
