WITH MUCH GRATITUDE

Thank you to our wonderful Longfellow students, staff, and parents. We had a remarkable year with many memorable events. Community is the critical thread that ties us together and makes Longfellow the excellent school that it is. For nine consecutive years we have been honored with the prestigious Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence. Our strong parent partnership is a huge contributor to our success. Thank you parents for your steadfast support of our students and staff. Our motto of “Inspiring Excellence” is our way of life at Longfellow. All I can say is well done Lancers and I am so grateful to every parent, staff member, and student.
Have an enjoyable, relaxing, and safe summer.

AFTER SCHOOL PARENT SURVEY

Longfellow parents, below is a link for a quick survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey is an important component of the after-school program evaluation and is critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data. The responses not only allow us to assess the impact of the after-school program, but they help drive program improvement and program quality.   This survey has been approved by the FCPS Internal Survey Review Committee.  Seal  Approval  Number 19225.
Over 95% of our students participated in the after-school program this school year, with over 22,000 occurrences of students staying after-school.  Thank you for your continued support of the Middle School After-School Program! Please complete survey by the last day of school, June 13th.

G SUITE FOR EDUCATION SUMMER ACCESS

With summer quickly approaching, below is a message that schools may choose to share with their parent communities about G Suite for Education summer access.
G Suite for Education is available to students over the summer. All files created by, or shared with, students will continue to be available to them. Explore what your student is working on in G Suite for Education by having your student log in to his or her FCPS G Suite for Education account at home. Your student will use his or her network login credentials to access G Suite for Education. Students have the ability to reset their password using the Account Recovery service, even over the summer. However, recovery options must be set up in advance. Your student can set up those options by logging into the FCPS Account Manager.
Summer is also the perfect time to revisit the rules in your household for technology and media use, and set clear expectations for your child. The FCPS Digital Citizenship website has Device Contracts and Family Media Agreements that can help you guide family conversations. There is also a free online Digital Citizenship course available for parents and their children to work through together.
More information on G Suite for Education can be found on the FCPS Website.
