Dear CES,

We are down to the Final Week of the 2019 - 2020 school year! It has been an absolutely wonderful year filled with fun, learning, and successes. This past week was filled with many end of the year events. We started off the week with Farm Day. The students loved interacting with the animals. I spent the day on the roof due to the students receiving pledges from all 50 states during Boosterthon. We were treated to amazing music concerts by the CES Band and the Third Grade Recorder Ensemble. Four of our students presented to other teachers and students from the county on our visit with our Costa Rican friends. The fire fighters and EMS workers came for a visit and to teach us about their jobs. There were many class parties filled with fun and snow cones. We elected our SCA leader for next school year. Our former CES students that are graduating, stopped by to walk our hallways. Finally, we held our annual Success Night! It was packed with happy students who were able to share their many successes with their families and friends. It truly was a POSITIVE event and a great way to bring closure to this school year!

End of Year Medication Pick Up

The school health room reminds parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.  It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

If your child will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, your existing long-term medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program.  Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

If you have any questions, please contact the health room at 703.502.3510, or your school public health nurse, Cindy McKee, RN, at 202.578.3745.
