Our Field House Renovation has Begun!

Dear Family Fairfax,

Half days have started, and I am currently watching our students rush out to jump onto the bus.  It’s amazing how we spend some of our days consoling students who don’t want to be in school and have to be here and as soon as summer days are on the horizon, we can’t beg them to get on a bus and go home!  I believe it is because Fairfax is home in so many ways….

Monday’s graduation was, in my opinion, absolutely flawless.  I’d like to thank the many, many staff members who were involved in the planning of the big day—it took a village, that is for sure!  I was overwhelmed with Pride when I looked out at our Class of 2019—they have been such a fantastic group, and we know amazing things are in their very near futures!  I felt lucky to get to hand out diplomas on behalf of our community.

During our coffee this morning, parents shared their perspectives on communication, ways to encourage/increase parent involvement and engagement, and what type of information would be advantageous/beneficial from Fairfax High School.  I gathered really good ideas from those parents who were able to attend, and I look forward to gathering much, much more at Back to School Night—which, by the way, is August 29th

Here is to a restful weekend—next Thursday’s NYC will be our final one of the 2018-2019 school year!

All the best,

Erin B. Lenart
