Barnes and Noble Book Fair

Mark your calendars for the Barnes and Noble Book Fair, this Thursday 6/6/19 from 5-8 PM at the Springfield Barnes and Noble location!

Have your plans changed? Are you moving?

Please let the office know if you are moving this summer or changing schools.  We need updated residency information whether you are moving to a different house within Fairfax County or moving out of the area.  Questions about what is needed please feel free to contact Ann Prentice, Orange Hunt Registrar at 703-913-6812 or aiprentice@fcps.edu. Thank you!

lost and found

Lost and Found

The Lost and Found at Orange Hunt has been growing. We know you spend a lot of money on things for your children.  Please come and check it out. There are many, many jackets and sweatshirts.  If you are missing any of these items please stop by and take a look. The Lost and Found racks  are  located near exit 3, behind the cafeteria.  We will be donating the unclaimed items to the needy soon. Thank you!

SOL Testing Results

At this time, we are almost through the SOL window. Makeups and retakes will continue through Friday, June 7. Once all students have had the opportunity to complete their assessments, unofficial score report letters will be sent home in the US mail directed to parents. You can expect these results to arrive near the last day of school. We feel that it's important to send these results through the mail because we know that students are anxious about their scores and  believe it's important for parents to decide whether or not students will see their score. The official score reports are sent home from the state, sometime near the end of August.

Student Dress Code Reminder

Now that the weather is warmer, we want to remind our families to ensure your students are wearing school appropriate clothing. Shirts with sleeves are recommended. Halter, tank, and thin-strapped tops are not permitted. Sleeveless athletic jerseys without a t-shirt underneath are not permitted. Pants and shorts need to fit snuggly at the waist. Mid-thigh length or longer shorts and skirts are appropriate for school.

If clothes are in violation of the dress code, parents will be notified and students will be asked to change their clothes. Tops and bottoms must overlap at all times, including when arms are raised. Hats, caps, hoods, and other headwear may not be worn during the school day.

Students need to be aware of shoes on their feet as well. Due to safety reasons, flip flops are not appropriate for students to wear to school.  It is encouraged that students wear shoes they can run and play in safely.  Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe!
